lust“When Delilah saw that he had told her all that was in his heart … she made him sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his hair. Then she began to afflict him, and his strength left him … he awoke from his sleep and said, ‘I will go out as at other times and shake myself free.’ But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him.” (Judges 16:18-20)

It’s dreadful to fight an enemy that you just got done flirting with, fantasizing about or sleeping with. Anyone who is that close to you gains access to all of your weaknesses and then discovers where all of your defenses are.

So many stupid things I’ve done, the story starts with “Well there was this woman…”

  2. Hmm, wrong places, wrong people…. how can we fight those things that we continue to play with and we think, oh it’s just a little play time, a little fun, I can handle it then, what, you’ve been zapped of your strength, your joy, your mission. Ouch!! Good one Pastor.

This is very true!…and a personal experience taught me that the “oneness” that a very close relationship creates brought a lowering of my guard and I was easily dominated, intimidated and manipulated.

  3. Only extremely valuable assets are worth relentless pursuit. Guess why pornography is everywhere?
